1 Week Completed!!

I did it! I made it to one week with NO CARBS NO SUGAR and almost no cardio ;)

My ankle has been feeling better and I wanted to try it out. So I ran a few miles but that is nothing compared to my usual routine.

The result after 1 week.....

I have lost 4 lbs.

This is A LOT considering how little cardio I have done. I do have to admit...I have less energy.
The first 3 days were really difficult in keeping out sugar and carbs. It was the weekend and it is hard to see treats at parties and dinner and say "no". But, now that it has been a week....it really is easier.

A few tricks that got me through the first few days.
Sugar free JELLO.
Also, a dessert with cocoa powder, splenda and ricotta cheese.
Diet Coke (this has become my "treat" and reward) someday I will need to so something to ween myself off this

Things I have eaten this week:
Omelettes ....loaded with mushrooms, cilantro, Cheddar cheese, olives, pepper and tomatoes. I ate it with a fresh salsa (The bottled kind is LOADED with sugar) It really was a delicious lunch or breakfast.

Salads...every night for dinner I make a big salad loaded with olives, feta cheese, Cheddar cheese, hot peppers, green peppers, cappers, olives, and avocado. (be careful with dressings! I used a balsamic sugar free dressing) I made this salad with the "family meal" that way if I can't eat too much of the meal..I have the salad to fall back on. My kids loved the salad too.

Chicken meals...Grilled chicken, baked chicken. It is great to have chicken available to you. It is a great source of lean protein. If you make it for dinner one night. Make extra...save some in the fridge and then throw it on your salad the next day.

Tuna wraps...I would wrap tuna fish in lettuce with pickles.

The "Puffer"...at the Equinox Cafe in Scarsdale, NY. It is so good and recently the lady that started it (well, it was her husband) walked me through the recipe. It has egg whites, cinnamon, ricotta cheese and splenda. You would never know this dish is LOADED with egg whites because it does not taste "eggy"

NOW...I am on to my 2nd week.....

Good job! That's a hard thing to do. Good luck on your next week! I hope your ankle continues to come along good. I've run outside a few times this week (when the wind hasn't been blowing like mad), and it feels great to be doing it outside again, instead of on a treadmill.
